Similar to the Raptor One, the all new Raptor Pro features higher brightness, a tougher, submersible body, side-exit cable, a new keyway charger and a battery that fits onto the back of your helmet.
Lithium-Ion Technology
Lithium-Ion is the most sophisticated battery chemistry available today, seeing use in applications such as laptops and mobile phones where there is the need to store as much power as possible in as small a space as possible. Lithium-Ion is a vastly superior technology to the large heavy Lead Acid cells of old, and even Ni-Cad batteries look bulky and cumbersome in comparison. Very few other caving lamps are available today based on the cutting-edge Lithium-Ion technology.
The Raptor LED Caving Lamps feature a very small light weight Lithium-Ion battery pack which attaches to the back of your helmet via a special mounting bracket (included). It has been designed and built for the mining industry and is utterly rugged and durable in its construction. Its size is not much larger than a box of cigarettes and once attached to the helmet is hardly noticed at all.
High-Performance LED Head
The head of the Raptor Pro has been crafted for durability and strength and features an extremely energy efficient, latest generation LED. The bright, pure white and even light is far more pleasant to see with than old filament based lamps which can provide a yellow and ringy light. Old filament based bulbs can of course blow without warning - not good if you're half way down a 600' shaft abseil.
Unlike other LED caplamps that use plastic optics to shape the light, the Raptor Pro LED Caving Lamp features a precision-engineered, chromed plated metal reflector to provide the perfect beam - a wide, even spill matched with an ultra-bright center spot that just goes and goes.
The wide even spill light is essential to enabling your brain to interpret local terrain and provide peripheral vision. Many other lamps lack this wide spill and can leave the user stumbling over unseen rocks and not balancing properly on difficult ground. Just as important, and equally rare on LED Caplamps is the center spot which should be as tight and bright as possible. Here the Raptor Pro LED Caving Lamp truly excels thanks to the large chrome reflector shaping and focusing the beam so that even the longest tunnels can be lit up and distant features studied.
The head also features a pilot mode where six other tiny LEDs are switched on to provide an even wider and more diffused light which is perfect to lunch or rest by.
Key-Way Li-Ion Mains Charger
The Raptor One ProCaving Lamp comes with a sophisticated current-limiting key-way mains charger. Just like traditional miners caplamps, the head of the Raptor Pro is simply placed onto the charging key and is rotated a half-turn to lock it into position for charging.
The charger provides a huge 2 amps of charging current to the battery but as it nears full capacity the charger gently drops its charging current so that the full charge can be reached without stressing the Li-Ion battery. When charging is finished, the light simply switches from red to green indicating the The Raptor Pro LED Caving Lamp is ready again for use!
Lithium-Ion batteries do not suffer from 'memory-effect' like older Ni-Cad (and to a lesser extent Ni-Mh) cells do, so there is no need to fully discharge a partially-charged battery before recharging.
The Raptor Pro's Li-Ion battery has over-charge, under-charge and short-circuit protection built in as standard.

The Raptor Pro LED Caving Lamp is ready to light up your underground environment to enable you to see things in brilliant, clear white light, but more than that, it's built to take the serious abuse that it will expected to deal with when the going gets tough. The thick tough cable on the Raptor Pro LED Caving Lamp won't come apart so easily and the tough head and battery won't either.
The Raptor Pro LED Caving Lamp is a rugged, dependable lamp that will provide years of faithful service and is ready to share your underground adventures with you to take the rough with the smooth. It represents unbeatable value for money with many competitors still using disposable batteries, plastic optics and a build quality more akin to camping use than the rigors of the underground.

"I bought a Raptor Pro from caving gear and it is money well spent, great beam, goes forever, a nice light build, the envy of at least one of my mates. :)"

"I bought a Raptor One and liked it, so much so that I recommended another club member to buy one. He found the Raptor Pro was the latest version and bought that.
Both lamps are standing up well to caving use, so far so good"

"I've had one of these for a few months now and am very pleased with it. It's alot of light for the money and a significant improvement on my old Oldham. My 11 year old daughter uses it when we go together and appreciates the light battery."

"What a great lamp! It's like having a little WW2 searchlight on your head, the beam just goes and goes. The overall weight is barely noticeable, even with helmet mounted battery, it takes the knocks with the best of them, and on a full charge it'll last a long weekend's hard caving with some to spare."

"Awesome. The best word to describe this caplamp.
Sure there are far more superior lights on the market but for the price this caplamp cannot be beaten.
Delivery was rapid and upon opening the parcel the first thing I noticed was the quality. The charger is very good. The wiring (which came with a fitted plug) is heavy rubberised good quality material. The caplamp attaches direct just like an Oldham so no need to disassemble and fiddly connectors. Charging is clearly indicated with an LED.
The battery pack is a revelation. Small, lightweight and barely noticeable when worn / carried. I have tested my lamp on full beam and it ran for at least 19 hours!
The beam is tailored exactly how it should be. The throw is unreal - a friend with a Stenlight was a little jealous.....
Rugged construction is evident too - I have used the lamp on many occasions and despite a few scuffs it still works perfect. Built in safety features with circuits give lots of reassurance too - essential when visiting dangerous or difficult places.
The Raptor Pro is a class leader. Quality, runtime, light output just cannot be beaten for the price. Highly reccomended.
Thank you for this - it is exactly what I needed. "
